All Bosses and How to Beat Them

A full boss-by-boss breakdown for Control: Resonant, covering where each fight happens, the attacks to watch for, and the safest way to win.

How the Boss Fights Work
The bosses of Control: Resonant are strange, anomaly-twisted creatures, and every encounter turns into a footwork exam. Raw damage helps, but mobility wins fights: read the pattern, weave through it with your abilities, and strike in the gaps. Each boss below gets the same treatment — where the fight happens, what it throws at you, and how to answer.
The Artist
Where You Fight It
You meet the Artist early in the campaign, inside the art museum in the downtown area.
Attack Patterns
What makes this fight tricky is that the Artist's entire moveset shifts depending on how far you're standing:
- At long range, it rips cars off the street and hurls them your way.
- Up close, two hammers sprout from the sides of its face and sweep horizontally across everything in front of it.
- When the hammers instead extend straight ahead as a vertical pair, an overhead smash is coming.
- After you pressure it, it retreats and answers with thrown debris — rocks, road signs, or both mixed together.
- Later it gathers a ring of stones and fires them at you one by one, and its final ground phase adds a meteor rain with a huge blast area.
How to Beat It
Start at range and treat the car throws as sidestep drills — move laterally as soon as the car leaves its grip. When you close in and the face hammers appear, create distance immediately. If the sweep is already in motion, jump straight at its face instead: there is just enough room between the two hammers to land safely and deal damage at the same time. Reading the stance matters too. A vertical, forward-pointing hammer pair signals the overhead smash, so back off or slip sideways and let it whiff.
Your own aggression pushes the Artist backward. Once it retreats, the debris phase begins. Rock throws follow a steady rhythm you can jump over, but once rocks and road signs start mixing together, keep your eyes moving left and right and strafe accordingly. While you dodge, hunt for openings and unload on its face — that is where every point of damage lands.
Knock off a solid chunk of its health and the Artist takes to the air. Climb the stone platforms it raises, get level with its chin, and hit it there to slam the boss back down to the street. On the ground it starts gathering stones into a ring and launches them at you one after another; each one is a single projectile, so keep sidestepping.
The final phase is the same fight, only faster and more frequent — plus the meteor rain, which covers an enormous area. Stay far away from the impacts, keep the dodge-and-punish rhythm going, and grind the health bar down. When it empties, close the distance and trigger the execution to end the battle.
